The Dress, the New Beau and NYE- but why not?

Recently, I had a friend ask if she should dress up for New Year’s eve?!? She had just started dating this new guy, but would be going to the same annual NYE house party of a 20 year friend.  The only difference between this year and last year, is that she would be bringing her new beau along. Her exact words were “I’ll just throw on a pair of jeans.”  

I was thankful that this was a phone conversation between the two of us, otherwise she would have discovered the look of awe and utter confusion on my face, I politely and poignantly answered ‘yes, yes, yes!’ (Insert fast blinking side eyes)

Quite often, we as women, feel it’s easier to just throw on a pair of jeans and slap on our favorite shade of lipstick and  keep it moving but why? Why not take the extra time and effort to look your best- if not everyday, but surely the very first hour, of the very first day, of a NEW YEAR!  

As the old saying goes, ‘when you look good you feel good.’ So yes, put a little extra effort forth for New Year’s Eve and see where the night takes you. Whether with a friend, new beau, constant companion or husband..

2. Add a little sparkle in your holiday makeup or lipstick.

3. Dab on your favorite fragrance (I’m newly obsessed with Tom Ford Noir). AND

4.  See where the night takes you.
